Magnolia sky

I'll finish the week with a shot of some magnolia bushes something we have a few of that are grown in Pots or in the ground

This beautiful one was at the local Garden Centre & I took it on our last visit before it closed for the problem we are all going through at the moment. I really miss going there and will be glad when I can go along and visit again

This one is out the front of out house and is in a large tub. We bought it many years ago as a little shrub but it grew and grew to what it is now.

This is our favourite magnolia it has also been planted in the ground , the hole being dug and loads of ericaceous compost added around the root ball, we hope it will be come acclimatized to the surrounding soil.
That's it from my garden this week, I'll be back next week with more
Happy Skywatch

Yes, we've got all this time to spend on our gardens but nowhere to buy anything we need. I've always wondered why "magnolia" is such a boring paint shade when the blossoms that it's named after is so bright and cheerful.

We are lucky in our Village we have a small Tesco where people get most of what they need and a butcher not far away saves fighting in the larger store

Wow. They are beautiful. We don't have magnolia bushes here but we have something else called magnolia trees. Ours bloom all summer. They give off a rich lemony scent. The flowers are white and enormous.

I love the pink color of yours.

Always liked the magnolia blooms and well remember these from our years of living in VA. There was no shortage of magnolia trees in and around our neighborhood, although we never had one in our yard. I confess to having looked up the definition of ericaceous, which I thought might pertain to acidic soil.

Billy Blue Eyes said...

It could grow into a tree given time it's only a few years old so if it survives it should grow bigger

Our soil is the opposite and not suitable which is why it was packed with compost we are hoping it will acclimatise itself to the surrounding soil
