Ferry Cottage
Ferry cottages in Littlestoke. I think the cottages were the home of the ferryman who used to operate the ferry over the Thames between Littlestoke and Cholsey now they look like the idyllic English cottage.

Abingdon Bridge
Thought we would go back to Abingdon for another photo along the Thames to the Bridge there which is actually two bridges separated by Nags Head Island over to the right of the photo. The bridge was first built as stone in 1416

Old Culham Bridge
Culham bridge used to be part of the old road that ran from Abingdon and was once a toll bridge (the tollhouse is still there). The bridge spans a cut called swift ditch which is made to bypass Abingdons shallows.
You can see this plaque on the bridge
This is looking across the bridge to the toll house

The Kennet Navigation
Yesterday I posted a photo of a lock being opened well on the other side of the lock is the Kennet Navigation which is a canal the river flows past way over to the left. It's called the navigation because the canal was dugout in places alone the Kennet to alow barges to travel between towns quickly and not get caught on the many bends and shallows along the river.
