Sunset Clouds

Taken on the 26th Sep. That evening I noticed the sun reflecting on the clouds as it went down

Made me wonder how it looked out the bathroom window, the clouds were fiery in the distance

In a horizontal line from the front with an orange glow in the centre

Going around the back again I looked easterly and heard  plane coming from LHR heading towards the west, these are getting a little too frequent fro my likeing

It flew on west towards it's destination

Banbury

These photo's were taken back in August 2010 when I went to Banbury with my wife, we were only there for a few hours so only had a quick look around

Banbury Town Hall

Really stuck out this old wholesaler though it closed many years ago and is now an estate agent well at least it was then it could be anything now. The writing on the wall gives you an idea what they sold there all those years ago

The Fine lady on her horse which is based on the nursery rime

"Ride a cock-horse to Banbury Cross,
To see a fine lady upon a white horse;
Rings on her fingers and bells on her toes,
And she shall have music wherever she goes"

This is Banbury Cross

One of the main transport years ago was the Canal, this is the Oxford Canal, this part is beside the Castle Quay shopping centre

It is mostly used for leisure now though this cruiser looks like it is making a meal of things

and it gets busy

You have to open your own lock gates as well

That's it folks I must admit I would like to go back as there is a church there I'd love to look around

Reflective sky

These are the photos I was going to post last week so I hope you enjoy them

I noticed the sun was setting from my caravan so I went out to get a few photos of the sky which looked great with the few dark clouds

The sun reflected off them as it went down

Then as I walked by the lake I noticed the reflection of the sky

The clouds reflected in the still water

While the sun settled behind the hills

The clouds lined along the lake

and the hills reflected too

A mirror image in the lake

The Orchard Centre

A week or so ago  I popped over to Didcot to get some goodies from marks and Spencer's Food hall. I took the opportunity to look around this part of the centre and get a few photos

This part of the centre is relativity new being opened a few years ago with new shops. At the end you can see the M&S foodhall which is very popular but I noticed a couple of interesting shops there as well.

First was this Oxford Etsy shop which I presume is where you can sell your items you make, my wife has thought of opening one for some of her knitted items

I loved the name of this one, Neon Sheep. Unfortunately I did not want to hang around so passed on looking in the shops

I walked up a side area where I noticed this place, I had heard there was an ice cream parlour here, just need to entice my wife out to try one, Next door is Nando's, I have never been in this one but when my son was at Uni it was one of the places he took me though I ended up paying.

Skywatch Friday

Bit late with this post but the photos were taken on Friday Morning (yesterday). I could not resist the sky's though I admit they were not what I had intended to post you will have to wait till next week

We took our dog for a walk and I really could not help myself not to take a photo of the sky and scenery

It's views like this that always lift my spirits

You forget all that is happening in the world

and enjoy the moment

This was the first photo I took in the morning and I really have not got a clue who the young lady is who was sitting having her breakfast

Memorable Walk

It was quiet a memorable day for me so I thought I would go for a walk and my wife came with me on this little jaunt

One of the first things I noticed was this tractor and seed-drill parked up

The gulls were out in the field gorging themselves

On the other side I spotted this guy who I thought was the driver of the tractor but I think he was meta detecting

Really could not believe my luck seeing this steam train on the track

Looking back towards where I had come from

This field had been harvested

The way we had come, you can just see the church by the tree

And the way home through the Bullshole Tunnel, that's my wife nearly through
