It's Halloween

It's Halloween and though I'm not keen on all that goes on with it in the UK. It is on of those things that seems to have come over from the other side of the pond that companies can jump on the band waggon and make money from. Saying that I do appreciate the work some people put into their costumes and decorations. Walking along the road today someone had really pushed out the boat

The had decorated their front garden
 Carved pumpkins
Skeleton coming out of the ground
 Zombies & giant spiders
 Ghosts floating around
 The odd Witch
or two. Yep that should please the local kids tonight

More Fungus

So a week or so after seeing the Fly Agaric the other week when we were up on the hillside I thought that would be the end of it and that the fungi would be dying off by now but to our surprise  my wife spotted some new ones on a bank beside a wood

The fallen trees on the bank

You can just make out the fungi beside the post on the right

They looked really nice close up

Not far away in the wood were more growing

We moved on further up the path to where the original fungi was growing and spotted a load in the wood

With more growing up through the dead leaves and wood

We left the fungi to grow in peace

Not far away the fungi we saw previous was now dying and feeding the bank it grew on

Sunrise, Sunset

The misty morning my wife & I went for a walk we saw the sun rise through the trees

The evening came & I noticed a beautiful sunset or at least the last of it

The sun making the clouds glow some wonderful colours

Finally dipping leaving the colour fading away
Happy Skywatch everyone

Another Morning

You might have guessed I like my morning walks and on this occasion we went off to find some mushrooms  I had see previously

Compared to the last time we were here the view was clearer

Though there was still a slight haze in the distance
Soon enough we came across the mushrooms or should  I say fungi because no way should you eat  these Fly agaric just admire

This one was growing well on the bank

It looked like this a couple of days previous

But they do look so colourful with their white spots on the red heads

They had grown well over the last day
But we could not look at Fungi all day it was time to head back to the caravan and a cup of tea

St Bartholomew Oare

This week the Church Explorer visits Oare and a small church called St Bartholomew
A church I never knew of till I looked at the Ordnance Survey map a little more closely while looking for another church nearby. I hope to revisit this one as I did not get to see the inside

Above the Mist

On Tuesday I posted the walk my wife & I took one morning, Well the higher we got the better it looked

Looking down the valley across the mist

The campsite was clear of mist

Looking towards Llandrindod wells the valley was covered in mist

The moon was still in the sky

The is the place I usually stand to take my photos of the campsite, in the distance the mist lays in the valley. It was the perfect start to the day
