The Last Supper

This weeks mural is a mosaic used in a Church called St Thomas of Canterbury in Elsfield near Oxford. The Mural is the backdrop to the altar.

Off to one side are these cherubs

The central part of the mural

Not my best stitch as what I did not work out but gives an Idea as to what the whole mural looks like.

I cannot imagine placing all those tiles in place. What a well done piece of art.

To be honest, I'm not so fond of the cherubs. But the Last Supper mosaic is superb! Nice find.

Even though it's copying a work of art, its medium makes it its own art work. Fabulous. I saw those cherubs at Santa Maria Maggiore in Roma.
