Reading Skys

Last Saturday morning I drove over to a Builders Merchants in Reading and on the way back I stopped off at a Station to take some photos of it which I had been meaning to for a while. The reason was because this Bridge

Was being replaced  because  the line is being electrified and the bridge is too low for the overhead cables

It's being replaced by the new one you see ahead, this  will allow the overhead cables which power the trains to go through.

While taking the photos I noticed the sky overhead and had to get a photo

  6. Wonderful where photography takes us. You had in mind to photograph the bridge and by chance you were presented with that super sky. Both came out really well.

  9. It's always great to see an old, tired bridge being replaced by something sparkly and new! Nice shots, especially your last one of the sky.

    1. I'm not sure I'm happy to see bridges removed but in this case it is needed and they did a good job with the new one

  12. Great photos! There's no trains or no tracks in my nearby society - I have to travel by car for nearly 3 hours to get to the closest train station! So, in some way trains are exotic to me - and it's a shame, because I love to travel by train! Sitting in the wagon, reading and reading and reading...

    1. 3 hours, that would get me down to Wales in the car. Our station is a 5 minuet walk from my house. I love looking out the window as I go anywhere on the train.

  13. I like the look of the new bridge better anyway. :-) Pretty sky, love the little puffer clouds and hints of gold in it! Glad the bridges guided your eye and camera skyward!

    1. It does look nice but the old one had deteriorated so it would have been necessary to repair it Taking the photo of the new bridge gave the opportunity of a sky shot
