Ferry Cottage

Ferry cottages in Littlestoke. I think the cottages were the home of the ferryman who used to operate the ferry over the Thames between Littlestoke and Cholsey now they look like the idyllic English cottage.

Very charming! What a beautiful structure. I can imagine writing there. :)

How pretty. It looks cozy and big! I guess being a Ferryman was a good gig in the 19th century! Stoping by to say I love the English flavor of what your eye sees.

Oh I'd love to write there, anywhere I could have peace and quiet. Right now I'm trying to concentrate with SpongeBob screaming in the background.

I suppose being English and living here helps, thanks for visiting.

Problem is if you were there then no doubt the ankle snappers would still be there being noisy, mind I love SpongeBob and that keeps me quiet.

It's adorable. . . Though I suspect I would want more and bigger windows. . .

That would take the character away then.

Do English cottages look inside the way movies show them? I can't recall the name of the movie--it starred Kate Winslett, who lived in a cottage like the one above. She traded homes with Cameron Diaz in Los Angeles for the Christmas holidays. After seeing that movie, I wanted to live in an English cottage.
