Today I am showing you the River Kennet as it passes through the Oracle shopping center in Reading. Here we look towards the London Street road bridge (the arch you see through the near bridge). The building you see on the left is the Blade.

Wow, the flooding aounds like it was awful.. Glad everything is back to normal now. Looks like a pretty shopping area! Have a happy week!

Nice pictures - I have just started reading a book called Silt Road which is about following a river, many of the sections of the river flow through urban areas like this - the river starts near High Wycombe.

I think it was, the Kennet here flows into the Thames further along past the Blade so it backs up
This was just before Christmas so hopefully it looks like this again now

High Wycombe is to the north of Reading There is a river or somthing flows from there called the River Wye and somthing called the Dyke, seems to join the Thames

There is so much going on beside the river as it flows through such a busy town. Good to see the river has receded.

I like the look of this shopping area.
That is mostly places to eat along this area but over to the right of the second photos is the shopping cerntre (mall) where I'm sure you would enjoy going round
The buildings seem to be built very close to the river.
There is one called Holy Brook which flows under the shopping centre by the place does not get flooded
Isn't it funny how all the new buildings have such sharp names now, the shard, the cheese grater, and this one... the blade! It's such a relief that the rain has ceased and the rivers are receding slightly.
Yes your right about the names. The photo was taken before Christmas but it's good the floods are now subsiding

It looks nicer on a sunny day or in the spriing & summer as for city they is something Reading would like to be called, it still a town
