These photos were taken almost a year apart. the photo below was taken on New Years Eve and shows the flood level of the Thames to be quite high.
Have a great day
This blog is to showcase some of the photo's I've taken, the pictures can be from my archive of many years or taken recently. They are from where I live and the various places I have been. I hope Enjoy my work and come back to visit again
It is so interesting to see the river a year apart. You are getting so much rain there. Sure hope there's a dry spell in the future so everything can recede to more average levels.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt there will be but we have had more rain since so more photos to come
DeleteWow - not much difference in the water level.
ReplyDeleteMight not look it but in the regon of half a meter difference
DeleteIt looks like this area isn't a stranger to flooding. Nice look back! Hope you are enjoying the New Year so far. :)
ReplyDeleteNo it's not and has been a lot highter than this
DeleteReally interesting photos Bill. Despite our beautiful sunny Summer, the ground is still saturated and I don't think this is the end of high water levels and flooding.
ReplyDeleteNo your right there,I'll check tomorrow to see where the level is but most of the fields are floodded
DeleteInteresting pics!
ReplyDeleteI guess the turn of the year is favorable to storms and floods...
You seem to have had much of all that lately in England even if the levels show more water for last year.
In Brittany -France, they also have their feet deep in deep overflows from heavy rains.
Happy New Year!
Does not matter the time of year, if we have heavy rain it floods. Too many houses and not enough dranage

ReplyDeleteMercy that is a lot of water whichever way you look at it. Good shots Bill! YAM xx
Oh yes your right there. If you look up the pillar in the first photo you can see a flood line from back in the 1800's
DeleteHappy New Year Bill, with all your love one's !!
ReplyDeleteWarm greetings from Holland, Anna ;-))
Thank you Anna I wish you the same.
DeleteHAPPY NEW YEAR to you, Bill.
ReplyDeleteWow, there is a lot of water and no snow.
Best regards, Synnöve
Oh yes some of that would really make it interesting.
DeleteIt looks like it's an annual event!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid it can be more frequent than that when it comes to flooding.
DeleteHow strange that they both look so similar!
ReplyDeleteYes it is especially as it was within days of the time of year
DeleteThese thing seem to be happening more and more often!
ReplyDeleteAfraid so and there is nothing that can be done other than hope your not affected.
