X is for Xmas

I struggled with this one bit like I will for Y & Z but I thought Xmas would do. It's a name I hate as I prefer Christmas but looking it up on Wiki I see it dates back to the 16 century. Since 2008 I have bee going out on Christmas day and taking a photo for Geograph at Midday so here are a few.

  3. One day I would like to experience a White Christmas (yes I prefer it spelt this way too).

What a great idea Geograph is. Even for a family history researcher. I can look at photos of places where my ancestors lived, from the comfort of my armchair!

It would be good if Australia had something like this too.

    1. Technically it was not a white Christmas as it had fallen a few days beforehand but it was white enough for me. Glad you like Geograph you can check my profile on there and I'm always up for some field work just end an email or use the contact button.

  4. I also prefer the word Christmas, as opposed to the word x-mas. Words...Words...Words:-)

  5. No kidding. 16th century? Never understood why it was an x and not a t. Guess I'll go read Wikipedia now. You've got me hooked on your photos now.

    1. No doubt but the do it for the money as they get paid a lot. The deck of the new bridge was in by the end of the holiday.
