The lock is to the right in the distance and is on the Kennet in Newbury. To the left is the river which over flows from the canal via a weir further up from the lock.
Taking Part in Blogging from A to Z
This blog is to showcase some of the photo's I've taken, the pictures can be from my archive of many years or taken recently. They are from where I live and the various places I have been. I hope Enjoy my work and come back to visit again
What a beautiful place! I've never seen such a small lock. The locks on our local rivers are huge--to allow tugs and barges to make passage. Wonderful! :-) Nice "L" post. :-)ReplyDelete
Narrowboats used the Canals but they are a bit bigger when you are near them. The photo was taken with a cameraphone not my usual camera I take with me.Delete
I would be interested in the history of the lock and the types of boats that use it. I assume that it has been there a long time?Delete
