Hillside Flowers

Continuing with my theme from the Hillside at Fforest Fields campsite I thought I would show some of the flora I spotted while walking up to the viewing platform there

On the way up I could not help spot this purple flower which I think is a violet sorry its a bit blurry but after reading on some ones blog about them I was pleased to see one

Up on the hillside the ferns were just coming out of the ground and uncurling. in a few weeks the scene here will be one of green ferns everywhere
And then on the way down I spotted a whole lot of violets

And bluebells all over the place

A couple of weeks later and there were still a few bluebells to be seen in the gorse on the hillside walk
catching the sun on the hill

On the way back I spotted a thistle which was coming into flower
Come back Friday for a Bluebell sky

Amazing how many things you can spot while trudging uphill. The Bluebells here have all disappeared now till next year.

Lovely bright colours, I hope no one mows over them and lets them be.

Lovely hillside flowers you have there.

Isn't it wonderful to see so many wildflowers? We had such little rain last winter that we didn't get any wildflowers this year. In fact, we haven't had a good spring wildflower season for about 4 years.
