No doubt you have heard of the Bayeux Tapestry well while visiting the Museum in Reading I took some photos of the version they have there.

Sure is an amazing piece of history.
That does look as though it is worth a visit. Must put it on the list.
It's news to me that there is a copy of the Bayeux Tapestry. Saw the original for the first time about a year ago. So impressive that a textile this elaborate has lasted so long. Thanks for showing another interesting sight in Reading. And thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

Oh memories - saw the original on a school trip waaaaaaaaaaayy long ago. Though not quite as long ago as the even depicted. These are excellent museum shots! YAM xx

A neat idea for a mural! I love looking at historical pieces like this.
The family of «Louis'» mother originated in Normandie near Bayeux. We have the family traced back to about 950. One of «Louis'» Norman ancestors sailed down the Seine with William and fought at Hastings.
You never know Louis your relation might be on the tapistry
