Hi Bill. Is your lilac already in bloom? That's a great shot of the hoverfly. Thanks for the comments on my blog. I checked out the link you sent for the London buses and to my uneducated eye I couldn't see a lot of difference! I grew up in Manchester and assumed at that time the buses were more or less the same throughtout the country.
No it was taken a couple of years ago during the summer, the lilac is only just beginning to bud at the moment. They were using the buses in the link right up into the 1960s but since they they don't seem to have changed a lot.
