Not sure you can get much uglier than a ladybird larvae

I came across them on one of my globe thistles
Which came as a surprise because I hardly saw any last year
The one good this is they were eating the blackfly on the thistle
Ugly critters
But they eat the blackfly and turn into beautiful ladybirds

Some of the critters we don't like but they help us keep down other insects.
I've seen many ladybirds but never their larvae. Pretty cool.
