Cars in the Park

A few weeks ago the Queen celebrated her 90th birthday and there were party's & celebrations all round. Newbury held one in the park and part of it was a display of a car from each decade of her life

One of my favourites shown here is this Frog eyed Sprite or to give it's real name the Austin Healey
Sprite and was built around 1959

Not sure what model this was but no doubt from the 1920's

Another model I'm unsure of but looks A six cylinder sports car and a very nice one at that

This one I do know and is a Rover 16 which was built around 1937 to 1948

Some of what I call the also rans and from more recent times, The Ford Cortina Mk3 , beside that the Triumph TR7, the the Rover 800 , Next to that looks like it could be an MG ZT and the last one is the Jag, all reasonable cars from their time

The last one here is a Morris Minor, this one is a pickup and from 1969. The only sad bit I found from this show is that they never had a Classic Mini which was an Icon of the British motor industry, I find it hard to believe there was not one around to put on show. Still not a bad little display of car in the park.

Sky at Llandegley

So  few weeks ago I visited a church in this village and while walking around the churchyard I lookd out and could see this hill in the distance

The sky looked a little threatening  behind the church

but it cleared quickly as you can see  from this photo from across the road from the church

In the village you could see lots of fluffy clouds

Signets on the Lake

`
On another visit to Llandrindod Wells we went for another visit to the lake and an Ice Cream, as usual we stopped to look at the wildlife so here is a little of what we saw

This handsome crow was keeping an eye on things just in case we happened to drop a tasty morel

The signets were growing up from the last time I saw them
Watching what mother does and how to get food

Distant cousins the geese swim by

which gets one signets attention

the fountain & fish spewing water

The tail at the other end of the serpent

St Peter

Little lost for what to post this week so I thought I'd show this superb piece of art I came across in St peters Church Little Wittenham

It was on the lectern in the church and looks like it was lovingly made by one of the local school children or school

I just thought it looked sweet.
Happy 4th of July

Village of Tichborne

Back in March I visited this church in Tichborne for my Church Explorer Blog. After taking my photos I took a few around the Village

In the parking are beside the church is this seat

 which over looks the Village

Might add if you walk round the churchyard you look out on this view of the surrounding countryside

I stopped off for a few photos through the Village, this way takes you towards the church

and back through the Village

Village pub is called the Tichborne Arms and I must admit looked tempting to visit as it was lunchtime

Opposite you can see the old village post office

which from what is see is now just residential

Nearby is an nice row of terraced cottages

along with a few further along going towards where I took the first photos

I'll leave you with a photo of an old telephone box which from the look is still in use
