Oxford from the tower

Last weeks blog ended up at this place St Peter in the East now St Edmund's Hall Library when I was talking to the librarian who was telling me about the place she said the tower was open and you had to climb six flights to get to the top as bit of a cardio work out for you

Needless to say she was not wrong so here are some photos through the windows which were a little dirty

Looking down the rooftops to St Mary the Virgin on the left with the Radcliffe Camera center

I think we look towards New Collage Chapel here

Right down the roof of the church

This is Queens street towards the High Street

Odd photos from around Oxford

It was open doors in Oxford over the weekend so on the Sunday I took the opportunity to visit a couple of Churches that had become collage library's

First was this one which is now the center for Mission studies, it used to be St Peter & St Paul

Walking past the old Radcliffe Infirmary I noticed someone taking a photo of this fountain

I noticed this blue plaque on the nearby wall, I have come across another not far away in Old Marsdon

The door of the old infirmary

It was the bit under the plaque was interesting as it asked for donations, even back then hospitals needed money

Passed this plaque

which was on this collage building

The martyrs memorial

Who were burned at the stake at this spot along Broad Street

Further on you see this place the Sheldonian theater

When I got here I had go too far

The last place was St Edmund's Hall Library the old St Peter in the East Church

In the grounds you found St Edmund.

Wallingford Sky

Some Views of Wallingford from the end of July when we took out pup there in the bus

First stop was to see this lady it's her birthday on the 15th September

She sits over looking the kinecroft and most likely visited it when she lived nearby in Winterbrook whatever Wallingford claim

The boathouse now a restaurant but it did used to be a boathouse where you hire boats when I was in my youth

I loved the bright color of this narrowboat and the fact it is called Backward Circles

I will leave you with Wallingford Bridge and the grey sky's overhead

The swans

I had a quick walk around the lake the other week when I went down to our caravan for a few days

I have been watching the cygnets grow for the past few months and check to see if they are still there every time I come down

The parents noticed me and I think were waiting in case I threw some food out to them

But swam away when I did not

I went up to the quarry gate and looked back, trying to work out if there would be rain

Then stopped off at the lake before going back

Aberedew Hill

I don't normally moan online about things but this really did get my goat, some idiot thinks it's a good idea to put a wind farm up on Aberedew Hill, these are some photos I took up there back in 2012 and show the beautiful hillside they want to destroy with huge pylons and wind turbines. I'll let you scroll through them

This was not my original post for SkyWatch but I really feel strongly about this and think people should see what is at risk.
