An Old Bridge
While in Garlieston I went off for a walk to trace the remains of an old railway I had gone through the bridge to get a photo of the nearby station and turned to get this shot of the bridge.
Yacht in the Harbor
Another view from Garlieston this time showing the harbor which was at the time being reconstructed, the yacht is being patriotic withe the Scottish flag on the rails

Commemorative Rock
In my last photo of Garlieston Harbor I mentioned it played it's part in WW2 well this commemoration explains why.
The rock is near the village hall and behind you can see a notice board that has a display of photo's taken of the building and trials in the war.
This display of photo's are form the second world war. Believe or not some part of it still remain round the bay.
Garlieston War Memorial
The war memorial is on the sea front on South Cresent. In the background is the bowling green. One of the houses along here has the date of 1764 on the door lintel.
I'll post more photos from the village in due course.

Garlieston Harbour
Last year my wife and I thought we would try the caravan out for a weekend and decided on Garlieston which was in Scotland. Turned out to be a long way to go for a weekend. The harbor played its part in the Second World War.
I'll publish a few more photos from the place over the next few days.
