It's Easter and the photo I had intended to use did not seem appropriate so here are some daffodils from my garden.
I also popped down the village and too this photo of the Village green we call the Forty
  Happy Easter every one.

Wittenham Clumps

Wittenham Clumps, these are the clump of hills which dominate the area I live in and stand beside Brightwell Barrow There re two clumps, the second is hidden from view behind the one you see here. This used to be an Iron Age Hill Fort and is worth a visit if you are in the area.

Tadpole Bridge

One of the bridges on what I call the upper Thames taken a few years ago just after Christmas, it had thawed a bit but there was still ice on the Thames. The bridge dates back to around 1784.

The photo was taken from the Thames Path

Garlieston Harbour

Last year my wife and I thought we would try the caravan out for a weekend and decided on Garlieston which was in Scotland. Turned out to be a long way to go for a weekend. The harbor played its part in the Second World War.

I'll publish a few more photos from the place over the next few days.

One one of the Giants

This fellow is known as Sir Nicholas and is one of the Aldworth Giants he will be featuring in my next My Grave Place blog.

He rests in Aldworth Parish Church.

Traffic on the M25

This is the traffic I encountered  after picking my son up from Gatwick airport after he arived back from the states. It's quewing toget off the M25 and get on the M4. After being sat in it for 15 min I pulled out and drove to the M40 where it had less traffic and I was soon home.

I took this with my phone when the traffic was stationary.

Hundred House

This is the Village of Hundred House which is along the A481 to Builth Wells near the Fforest Field camp site, the photo was taken from the hillside overlooking the campsite.

I know it's a photo of Wales but Happy St Patrick's day every one

Caban Coch Dam

This is the photo of the dam  behind the Visitor center I showed yesterday. I had to look on Geograph to find this photo that turns out I took back in 2006. As you can see water is just flowing (wind blown) over the top due to it being near to full.

Check out the photo below to see what the dam look like with water really flowing over it.

If the photo looks a little fuzzy it's because there is so much water in the air. I will have to return to the place one day to take some more photos.

Elan Visitor Centre

This is the Visitor Center at the Elan Reservoir in Wales the statue is a tribute to the men who built the dams.

I'll post a photo the Dam nearby tomorrow.

Tanker in the road

The other day I published a photograph entitled Traffic Lights what it did not show was what was round the bend out of sight, so this is what you see looking the other way. I took the photo while waiting at the red light and it shows the tanker which I think is pumping water from an underground drain which has been causing problems with flodding just along the road.

I wonder what the local people think of this.

The Bells

Seems rude not to show them after climbing the tower to get a photo from the top of St Michaels in Blewbury

I love the red in these bells. More of the church can be seen here

Old Father Thames

The statue was commissioned in 1854 for Cristal Palace and marked the head of the Thames at Tewsbury Mead from 1958 to 1974.

It was moved to St Johns Lock Lechlade in 1974

View of the village

A view few people will get to see unless you were a builder working on the Fairmile site in Cholsey. The view here is of the village itself taken from the top of the scaffold round one of the buildings.

I've spent the last three years going round the site photographing the progress and from time to time I will post the odd photo on here.

Single lane

The A329 from Moulsford Railway bridge towards Halfpenny lane is down to one lane because the footpath has been closed due it being undermined by rabbits. The council say it will be a while before it can be repaired because there is no money in the budget.
Pity they did not have the foresight to see this as the path was collapsing years ago but they chose to overlook it.

Mean while people have to cue up and wait for the lights to change.

Traffic Lights

Traffic lights have been placed along the London Road in Blewbury causing small tailbacks during the day. The reason is a tanker is usually parked just out of photo with a long hose placed in a drain could not say if it's unloading or removing water from it but I do know there is water seeping through the road round this area.

Newbury Parkway

A couple of years ago I started taking pohotos on the development of Parkway Shopping centre in Newbury, the work started in 2008 and the place opened in Oct 201. During the work Costain the main contractor saw the photos I had been takeing and invited me on site to look round and get some photos.

This is a stitched one I took from the Penthouse when it was being built and looks over the apartments on the top of the shopping center . You can read my blog and article in the links below.

Hoverfly

I thought I'd stay on the insect theme again today and show a hoverfly which was on a lilac head.

Happy Monday

A couple of Butterfly's

It's Sunday morning and is overcast outside so I think something cheerful is in order and what better than a sunny day with butterfly's on a buddleja.

Have a Great Sunday

Walking on Broken Glass

Another photo from the wedding which is of the stilt walker in the last photo.

As you can see he is walking on Broken Glass while juggling  he also laid on a bed of nails and had everyone in stitches with his antics.

Medieval band

A couple of years ago I went to a wedding as the photographer (I was cheap) and the Bride & Groom had a medieval theme to the wedding so all the guests including me came dressed the part. The entertainment was this group of entertainers and I have to say it was the best wedding I have been to in years.
