April 1st

Aprils fools day which I seem to forget about now as I get older. At least there was no fooling the walk we took with the puppy on this morning.

Lambs by the fence being watched by mother

No doubt the first time they have seen a puppy which was looking at them

Things were starting to come into leaf

Catkins looked worth a photo

With blue sky as a background

On the way back I noticed this little blighter sunning itself

Morning walk

This is one from March I forgot and taken the week I noticed the Swans starting to nest and a few days before a post I showed a few weeks ago called Reflective moments and if you thought they were reflective then wait till you see these

5am and the sun just coloring the sky

The moon was just going down

Two hours later we took the puppy for a walk and I noticed the swan had started nesting

Further up the lake it was mirror like

Reflecting the hills and the trees in the water

Even the brown leaves showed in the reflection

Just like everything was upside down

Looking back a slight haze could be seen

The Swans

 Update on the swan nesting

Last time I looked and saw the swans nesting, on my return the other day I walked past the nest and my heart dropped as I noticed one solitary egg, I though they had deserted the nest

A few yards further along and I saw the swans with cygnets

All seven of them

The parents keeping an eye on them all the time

The cygnets stayed close

Mother and young

Grey Sky

Back in March my wife & I took a trip to a place called Greys Court a Tudor House not that far from where I live, it is looked after by the National Trust and we took our puppy there for a walk around the grounds. You can read more in the link above and the sky as you will see was far from Grey.

The Dower House

Greys Court as you walk up the drive

This leads to the walled gardens but we could not take the pup in but it is a really nice area to look around
and also has a Lilly pond

The Greys court front, we did not go around the place though in the past we have but the cafe around the back was open so we went for a coffee there

Few more Roses

I always say you cannot have enough roses and I notice we had more blooming when I went to my greenhouse

I went to check on my plants growing

On the way there I passed this rose that was in flower

So when I went to get compost from the area I keep it I passed this rose

This is the bush where the pink rose is I showed you last week

This one called rosa californica is one my wife grew from the original one we still have growing on the other side of the garden. It will be full of blooms in  a few days

One of my favorites Blue for you

This is the yellow one from last week and is what we see from the kitchen window every morning
