CJ's

There has been a coffee shop here for a number of years, CJ's should have opened six months previous after the last owner decided to give up the lease. During the winter a pipe burst caused flodding in all the nearby premises, CJ's suffered the worst. Eventually the work was done and CJ's opened

CJ's is differnt in that it  is more like an American Dinner

This was a private even for the opening

Inside the place is well laid out for people to eat or have coffee

They have a wonderful array of Danish pastries

Along with cakes and biscuits (Cookies)

It may look empty in the photo but it was early and I have not seen it with out people there so the place is popular. The food my son tells me is very good, I have tasted it and agree.

St David Triabad

This week the Church Explorer Visits St David Triabad, a now redundant church which the local community are trying hard to keep as a church. It is also one of the very few Georgian Churches in Wales.

The Vyne

As I went to visit The Vyne again this week I thought I would share a few photos with you.  If you want a more in-depth view of the place the click the link at the beginning. The house was built in the 15th century and has had some royal visitors in the past

This is the main entrance off the road which was done in the 17th century, this was originally  the back of the house

The front would have been here on the north side though this portico was added in the 17th century

This was one of the royal visitors now doubt with his latest wife in tow

They would have been entertained in this long room

There are over 400 of these panels in the room each one with the crest of a person the owner was friendly with

The panels date back to the 15th century

This was the view from where we exited the house, I think it is the back of where the cafe is now

Going through the walled garden

Where they grow a lot of produce that is used in the food sold in the Cafe

I'll leave  you with this view across the north lawn

Different Clouds Different days

Some clouds taken over a few different days

Noticed these storm clouds when I was putting my car away in the garage

They did look threatening

Even looked to be dumping rain in the distance

Wide view of the cloud with blue sky on one side

lighter clouds in the distance

A few days later I saw this cloud, it looked like a little animal running across the sky

Days later my wife spotted this while we were out for a walk at our caravan in Wales

I cannot say I have ever seen one before.

Some Bee Photos

Back in July I took a few photos of bees on some of the flowers in our garden

They seemed to love the giant globe thistles

And were all over them

Even the thistle made a good subject

So many different bees

A few days later we found this one on the doorstep

I'm not sure what was up with it but I moved the poor thing some where safer where it would not get trod on.

A Different Walk

Back in the first week of August my wife and I were in Wales at our caravan the place we stay at was very busy to take our dog for a walk so we drove a few miles to another place and took him for a peaceful walk

The walk took us around a small hill to a different view of the area

Taking in a wider view

Turning right a little

And a wider view taking in the small hill we walked around

Time to head back along the track
