Llynheilyn lake is just off the A44 at Fforest Inn and you drive right past going towards Hundred House We stopped off quickly to let the dogs have a quick break before we reached the campsite a little further along
The lake with the surrounding hills still with snow on
I always thought the lake flooded across the road
But it's marked on the map as a ford
and runs away as a stream with a temporary snow bridge across it nearby
The lake usually has a lot of wild fowl on it though there were few around when we stopped off
Last look and we were off

This looks like a great place to stop several times during the summer to see what it attracts. Even empty, it's a nice place to stop with the water running down.
The lake looks like a flooded field in that first photo. So much water around. Let's hope we have some sunshine this month.
Easier to admire than to pronounce. Always plenty of water in Wales in my experience.
I guess there is even more water after the last few days of rain. Some of my rivers have flood warnings.
How interesting that it flows over the road like that. Very pretty!
What a beautiful area to see. It's interesting how the water flows across the road naturally.
With a name like that, it could only be Welsh! I love it.
Beautiful photos. I love the contrast between the snow and the greenery.

It looks wonderfully peaceful, no wonder you like to spend time in the area.
Wow, it really is so beautiful there. Love the bits of snow still lingering.
