A Year Apart

These photos were taken almost a year apart. the photo below was taken on New Years Eve and shows the flood level of the Thames to be quite high.
Below the photo was taken On Christmas Day 2012 just a little over a year previous

Mind you ten years previous to that it was even higher.
Have a great day

It is so interesting to see the river a year apart. You are getting so much rain there. Sure hope there's a dry spell in the future so everything can recede to more average levels.

Wow - not much difference in the water level.

It looks like this area isn't a stranger to flooding. Nice look back! Hope you are enjoying the New Year so far. :)

Really interesting photos Bill. Despite our beautiful sunny Summer, the ground is still saturated and I don't think this is the end of high water levels and flooding.

Interesting pics!
I guess the turn of the year is favorable to storms and floods...
You seem to have had much of all that lately in England even if the levels show more water for last year.
In Brittany -France, they also have their feet deep in deep overflows from heavy rains.
Happy New Year!

No your right there,I'll check tomorrow to see where the level is but most of the fields are floodded

Does not matter the time of year, if we have heavy rain it floods. Too many houses and not enough dranage

Oh yes your right there. If you look up the pillar in the first photo you can see a flood line from back in the 1800's

Billy Blue Eyes said...

Thank you Anna I wish you the same.

It looks like it's an annual event!

Billy Blue Eyes said...

I'm afraid it can be more frequent than that when it comes to flooding.

How strange that they both look so similar!

These thing seem to be happening more and more often!
