A Year Apart
These photos were taken almost a year apart. the photo below was taken on New Years Eve and shows the flood level of the Thames to be quite high.
Below the photo was taken On Christmas Day 2012 just a little over a year previous
Mind you ten years previous to that it was even higher.
Have a great day
It is so interesting to see the river a year apart. You are getting so much rain there. Sure hope there's a dry spell in the future so everything can recede to more average levels.
Really interesting photos Bill. Despite our beautiful sunny Summer, the ground is still saturated and I don't think this is the end of high water levels and flooding.
Interesting pics! I guess the turn of the year is favorable to storms and floods... You seem to have had much of all that lately in England even if the levels show more water for last year. In Brittany -France, they also have their feet deep in deep overflows from heavy rains. Happy New Year!

DeleteIt looks like it's an annual event!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid it can be more frequent than that when it comes to flooding.
DeleteHow strange that they both look so similar!
ReplyDeleteYes it is especially as it was within days of the time of year
