Been linking up with another blog lately so have been missing out on Macro Monday well this week I'm joining back again. This week I am showing some fungus which I found growing on an old apple tree in our garden.

Yes I thought so as well, tree is dying so will be getting cut down soon

It looks like the tree has a fancy skirt on but when you think about it, fungus is kind of scary stuff in all of it's many forms.

Usualy see this stuff on rotten wood which does not say much for the tree

Really nice to see the fungus there. It's beautiful in that other-worldly way.

It is but as I said it does not say much for the tree which I fear is dying

It is but don't worry it will be replaced

Yes they do and in a way they are, feeding off the dead wood

Nice angles of the mushrooms. The way they look and crinkle makes me think of crispy bacon. I wonder if they're edible.

Hey not fare now I'm hungry. Don't think that type are edible

I've lived in the place 28 years and the tree was old then, think it could be part of an old orchard that was here.
