Estate update

Every so often I walk up through the village to see how the new development is coming along, since it started a couple of years ago it has grown from a few houses being built to a lot of them where people have moved in to them. The photos were all taken on an iphone

I came on off the bridleway along and took this photo showing now how much the place has grown

Through the fencing you get a better idea as to how the house look, these are in the finishing stage

Here we look down the first road, as you can see some of the house have people living in them

There are a row of bungalows which are for sale at the moment

This view looks along the road from the entrance to the estate, if you look towards the end you can see houses being built

This was the road the went from the left in the previous photo

Stepping back to the junction where the show home and sales office is situated

A wider view showing more of the estate. I think it will be a while before I get around the whole estate to take photos.

The Display Cabinet

Along one of the lanes in our village lives a retired school teacher were at the front of her house is a large home made cabinet with a glass front. Ever so often she sets up a scene with bears and soft toys as the caricatures in it, nearby is a second smaller cabinet showing a biblical scene. The other day when I went pat the large cabinet was showing a pantomime scene and the smaller one the birth of Jesus. I made a collage of the photos for you

Church Explorer Review 2022

This week the Church Explorer writes the first of two reviews of the churches he visited in 2022

Thrush on the fence

Spotted this thrush sat on the fence though the back door window from our kitchen so got a photo with my compact camera.

After posting a photo each day for the last week I'm really struggling to if I should just go back to posting my regular blogs and adding random post. Posting for a  365 is harder than I thought even though I did it when I started blogging.

Hampton Gay

Back in December I had the opportunity of visiting a church in Hampton Gay a little to get photos inside the church. After getting the key it was a half mile walk across a filed to get to where I was going

On the way there I passed this place

The church was nearby

I used my iphone for the next three

The building is Hampton Gay Manor which dayes back to the 13th century. in 1887 it was gutted bu fire and never restored. It is now a Grade II listed building and a scheduled monument and on the English Heritage buildings at Risk Register

The St Giles Church dates back to 1074 click on the link to see the inside
It was a rather nice day to go here.
Happy Skywatch

Knight in the Corner
