Hot Garden

 

The weather is heating up again and we have had no rain for ages. The garden is looking a little sad for itself at the moment so I thought we should take a look around  

This part was put in back in March and though it is growing the ground is dry, the tree gets watered regular the other plants seem to survive 

The tomatoes are ripening and I have picked a lot all ready

Not sure about the chillies though

Courgettes (Zucchni's) seem to be growing but still waiting some fruit

There are a few more chillies outside

 

More tomatoes ripening on the path

Even more on the other patio

At least this rose seems happy.

St James Cowley

 

This week the Church Explorer visits St James Cowley a beautiful little church which is in one of the busiest parts of Oxford and one of the older parts

On the Way Home

 

These photos were taken a month ago when we came hope from Wales. As we were coming off the A34 at Chilton I noticed the sunset and took a few photos out of the window so they are not quite as sharp.

 

This was around 8:30 in the morning after we climbed the hill from the campsite, I looked down and got this photo

 

This was nearly 10 pm as we came off the slip road, the sun had gone down and left a pink hue

 

Going down Hagbourne hill I took one out the window towards Didcot

 

I took a last one near home of the pink horizon

 

The flowing evening I looked out  the front of the hose and saw the clouds tinged pink

A panoramic seemed in order

And one from our bathroom

The moon was in the sky eager to take over from the sun

Some Macro

 

This week I go from long lens to short, 100 2.8 Macro lens my wife bought me and I thought was time I had a little play again. Normally I would use it on a tripod but all these were done hand held.The first four photos were taken in my garden the rest I went to the allotments nearby to take.

In the Allotments Chrysanthemums look pretty as well 

 

But not my favourite 

 

I noticed some movement in this Artichoke flower

A bee stuck it's head out

Then carried on collecting pollen 

 

I think this was a hollyhock

Loads of Chrysanthemums

 

 

Apples were growing 

 

And the bees were happy collecting pollen

St Mary & St Nicholas Littlemore revisit

 

 

This week the Church Explorer gets a a little back on track with his posts and revisits  St Mary & St Nicholas Littlemore a church which was shut on my last visit. This time I came along at a more reasonable time and had a pleasant look around.

Back to Wales

 

Back to Wales this week and the beginning of July  when we took the dog out for a walk one evening. The sky looked gorgeous so my walk was a little longer

Along the track looking across the mown meadow towards Aberedw Hill

Further on I looked back towards the site we came from

Then across towards the Radnorshire hills

 On the way back we walked around the lake and a last view of the clouds floating over the hill

A Few Random Photos

 

A while ago I purchased a new zoom lens for my camera it was time to try it out  so I sat in the garden and just took a few random photos. They are all taken from a chair I was sitting on the patio

Foxgloves one thing our garden is never with out, the seed everywhere

Moving around I spot a bee
