Dreaming Spires

As this will probably be my last Skywatch of this year I thought I'd end with a place local to me and one you know of as the city of dreaming spires. I went there on Tuesday with my wife as a treat for her Birthday and we went up Carfax Tower these are a couple of photos which I think are wothy of Skywatch. Look out for my visit in a future edition of Our World Tuesday and May I take this occasion to wish all my fellow bloggers & Skywatch visitors a Happy Christmas

ESA Space Murals

I know I have been harping on about the new buildings being constructed near where I work, both are to do with space and the second is for the European Space Agency (ESA), that is some major investment for the site. The hording round the outside has had huge space posters put up to take away from the mundane looking boards. Here are a few of them.

 The place looks like it will be an exciting place to work, pity I'm not staring that journey and not coming up to retirement. I envy people working in places like this.

New Building Skywatch

Remember that new building I showed the other day well later that day I went out at lunchtime to get some photos of another little project I have on the go and I too a photo of the building from across the old airfield.

A New Building

I have been following the progress on this building for a few months now so here is a quick update on how it is going.

 The first is a panoramic of the construction site, you can see the frame of the building has started going up

And this is the building with all the frame up in place

This how it looked last week with all the panels going on. I'll do a more indepth post at another date.

Came across this a few weeks ago when I visited St Michael, Cefnllys in Wales

I thought it was just a painting at first but looking at the photo it hangs like a tapestry of the nativit.

I feel it it is rather apt for the time of year

Reservoir Sky Part 2

A few weeks ago I showed some photos of a reservoir were my wife & I had a picnic. I thought you would like to see a couple more from the place taken from a view point and along the perimeter road round the place.

 This one was from a view point though viewing from it was a problem as a couple we sat hogging the area

this is what you saw looking to the left, much of the view was obscured by trees

  Just round the corner a bit gave this view looking along one of the reservoir legs

and this is a panoramic of it, the sun did not help me much but it gives a good idea  to the size and it was a better view but the best one was in the first link.
