Some photos round Oxford

As I went to visit Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford last week I thought I should show a few place I know and have been to

West gate shopping center, the new version, the original was built back in the 1960/70's

Behind me was Bonn Square once the place you would find all the wino's and homeless people now its cleaned up

This is where I was heading, Christ Church Cathedral

Going along the broad walk to get there

Tom Tower from the quad

The crown court, I had to go here for Jury duty, luck I never got called

Been here as well, St Aldates police station, had to give a statement after knocking a cyclist off his bike when I opened a car door on Hyth Bridge street. That was back in the 1970's, no action was taken

Th e Head of the River pub, When I stated working in Oxford back in 1972 this place was just a derelict riverside building by the late 1970's it was converted to this. I think the collage barges were built here.

Castle mound, I'm sure public hangings too place here till they moved then into the prison in 1868

Last place is the Said Business center in St Frideswide Square. when I went to work in 1972 you drove through the area and the Business center was an old railway station called the Rewley road station. I preferred the old building to this one

Take care

Modern buildings rarely hold a candle to the remarkable architecture of old, especially in Britain.
