Back in December I had the opportunity of visiting a church in Hampton Gay a little to get photos inside the church. After getting the key it was a half mile walk across a filed to get to where I was going
On the way there I passed this place
The church was nearby
I used my iphone for the next three
The building is Hampton Gay Manor which dayes back to the 13th century. in 1887 it was gutted bu fire and never restored. It is now a Grade II listed building and a scheduled monument and on the English Heritage buildings at Risk Register
The St Giles Church dates back to 1074 click on the link to see the inside
It was a rather nice day to go here.

The old Manor looks amazing. It appears to be fenced off, but it would be fun to get closer to explore, if that were possible.
These are very peaceful.
That's a fine-looking ruin.
Wonderful.
Nice photos. I love visiting old ruins and castles and churches when holiday-travelling
Ruins are filled with long lost stories. We feel them when we are around them. This building is on the at risk register.
