Monday my wife & I took a walk into Wallingford and took a footpath to the Thames at Winterbrook that ran beside Bradfields Brook
It came out by the Assistant Lock keepers Cottage which was built in 1913
Always think it's a odd place and the nearest lock is Benson a few miles away but there was a lock nearby called Charlmore lock
back in the Mid 1800's
a little further along you come across this huge boathouse
with balconies running around the outside
It was built for Oxford University Boat Club
There is a swing bridge to let out the motor boat that follows the rowers
The gates to the boathouse motorboats. Note the initials on the gate
Nearby a few geese were swimming around
After our visit to Wallingford we walked back along the path the way we came leaving the boathouse behind

Great photos Bill. Brings back fond memories for me.
A visit to the locks is always interesting!
That boathouse is quite impressive.
That was a nice walk you took. The cottage is a beauty and the boathouse is pretty impressive.
