This blog is to showcase some of the photo's I've taken, the pictures can be from my archive of many years or taken recently. They are from where I live and the various places I have been. I hope Enjoy my work and come back to visit again
the first shot with the reflection of the bridge is wonderful ... they both are ... but I don't think I'd like that much water ... hope there wasn't too much damage.
Thank you for returning to Sunlit Sunday this week, Bill. Based on the location of the trees and shrubs, the flooding of the Thames looks very extensive (the bridge's shadow shows beautifully); I hope the water doesn't take long to recede and that any damage to property isn't too severe.
If you could put an actual link into the post I'd appreciate it; it makes it easier for people to pop over and see who else is participating. Thanks for your trouble and enjoy your week.
Not round my area but other places it has, Oxford had two of the main roads closed because of the flooding and the railway has serious flooding at Hinksey
Beautiful pictures! The powers of the water is awesome - I really hope the flood hasn't done to much damage. Here in Norway we have finely got our cold weather, so now I hope for lots of snow and a lot of ice on the fjord!
Not round my area but other it has by flooding homes & businesses. Glad you have the cold though I have seen the Thames like it is freeze over a couple of times
Awesome photos, but sorry the residents have experienced this type flooding. Really liked first photo with the image showing the shadow of the bridge on the water! Hoping for sunny days for these folks. Smiles..Susan
Rushing water is never a good sign. It can take so much with it when rushing. For years I was an emergency worker with the Canadian Red Cross in Prince Edward Island and was on deployment to a number of flood zones. We just visited Storm Sandy in Staton Island after a year has passed from that flood zone and see 5 more houses have been torn down. The effects a flood leaves on a persons well being and their true possesions is heart breaking.
I have to agree, the Thames is flooding and also eroding the banks away along with flooding out houses causing no end of damage. Lucky it is limited to flooding in this area
Your photos are amazing but the fact is that it was a desaster for the whole area, as I saw on TV. I was there last Christmas and the weather was so mild... Nice to find you! Olympia

Lots of water, interesting to see you have rain and not snow this time of year. Maybe I should winter there! ;)
The water looks like it's moving pretty fast.
It looks like you need a panoramic shot to get it all in.
No it was it good though it was a really nice day
Not round my area but other places it has, Oxford had two of the main roads closed because of the flooding and the railway has serious flooding at Hinksey
Its going down but we are due another 48 hours of rain yet
Thank you for that
Not in this area but in other places it did
Well put Yamini
Did you see my shadow. Can think of a few places in the world would like some of it
The sky made the photo as it brightened it up, today it would have looked miserable
Yes it was nice, makes the place look nice
Done, did not have the link last night
Don't kid yourself we get it and it is still due but feel free to come over
It was racing along through all the arches on the bridge
Used the compact, even using the DSLR & wide angle it would not all go in.
I hope that you are not flooded! I'm new here, I just popped over from sunlit sunday!
Bitter sweet photos Bill. They are fantastic!
It reminds me of the reality of what people have had to endure over the last few weeks.
Sorry to see such devastating flooding. That doesn't mean the photos are not excellent.
Stunning shots, Bill!
Welcome along glad you popped over. Love your owls PS no more flooded than you
I don't mind seeing the floods just it affects people and wrecks their lives which I don't like
Thank you Andy they are not too bad round here if a bit high
Thank you Dana, hope bump is doing well as you
Hey, Bill, can you please send some of this water to us here in Southern California? We could really use it!!
Your welcome to some unfortunately it seems to be coming from over your side of the pond. Hope you get some soon

Visiting from Sunlit Sunday. Those are beautiful shots- gorgeous blue skies too! That's too bad about the flooding.
Wow - it looks so dangerous!
Not round my area but other it has by flooding homes & businesses. Glad you have the cold though I have seen the Thames like it is freeze over a couple of times
Thanks for visiting, yes they are wonderful skys
It is as I know, I jumped in the flooded Thames once, but don't worry I was on a rope and was pulled in
Beautiful photos but I was so sad to see and hear about all the flooding in England.
Thank you for the comment, it was sad though it did not affect us round here much apart from travel
Beautiful photos - but serious looking flooding!
Gorgeous shots - sorry for the flooding though. We've heard about it over here. My son lives in London.
Awesome photos, but sorry the residents have experienced this type flooding. Really liked first photo with the image showing the shadow of the bridge on the water! Hoping for sunny days for these folks. Smiles..Susan
I'm visiting from Sunlit Sunday. We've been following the UK weather - storms, sliding cliffs and floods - on the evening news. Stay safe!
It was very serious in places, many roads closed and homes flooded
Hes down river then and it won't really affect him, they would rather people like us upstream get flooded than let London catch it.
Few residents in this area are affected but the sub you see was short lived we had more rain
Though we had the storms it was not so bad round here, few trees falling over and lots of rain & flooding but most people are ok
Yes, it's flooded, but heck, it IS the Thames, so it's always beautiful.

Could not agree more there Poppy

Sorry about the flooding. The first photo is beautiful, even though it shows a natural disaster.
I think only the buildings on the left were affected from what I have seen but thank you for the comment and visit.

What round here in Wallingford or the UK in general? We still have the floods as they are taking a while to go down.
