Eight years ago at around 2am the Pavilon in Cholsey caught fire, I was woken up by smoke and on looking out the window I could see the building was on fire so phoned the fire brigade who responded quickly.
The New Pavilion opened with great pomp and ceremony and can be seen here

It's good that you woke up when you did. I enjoyed the photos.
My wife smelt the smoke first and woke me, it was well ablaze.
