Tulips

 

Our Tulips are growing well in the garden

These white ones are just starting to bloom

A variegated variety

The yellow ones will soon be out

The orange ones were hit by the rain

A few days ago I too this one of the yellow tulips which are now in full bloom

 

I'll leave you with the white ones which are now in flower

Rat on the Run

 

I must have been lucky with this one, after looking out and seeing a rather nice sunset I went upstairs to get a few photos

The cloud shape reminded me of a rat running

 

You make your mind up on what you see

East looked a clear sky

 

Went to the front window and took this shot of my rat

It really did look like a rat on the run, even got the reflection in the window

After Sunset

 

Sometimes we see a wonderful sunset other times we miss it all together 

 

Then there are the times we get to witness something like this

 

A long ribbon of beautifully coloured cloud

 

which ended like this in the east

 

To the south it was fading out

 

I did stitch a couple together for this

End of our special day

 
Special day well I suppose being married 40 years counts and we celebrated in our own way. The evening finished and I looked out the kitchen window and realised I'd missed the sunset but I got the afterglow

Signs of Spring

 

Snow drops announce the coming of spring when the flower  and have come out in abundance in our garden putting off a wonderful display

The sun shines and makes the brighter

The crocus are not far behind

But snowdrops outnumber them

The Daffodils are growing but still have to show their flower heads

Till then flower the snowdrops hold court

January Sunrise

 

I the second half of January I noticed a glow through the bedroom shutters as I was getting uplooking out the window this is what I saw

Oak Heart

Cyprus 1983

 

Back in 1983 my wife & I went on Honeymoon to Paphos in Cyprus, not my first choice (I wanted to go to the Canary Isles) but I let my wife choose. We both wished we had never gone to Cyprus after. I took a few photos while I was there and here is a few of the town. I doubt it looks like this now.

If you carried on along the road on the right you would have come to our hotel

And this place was positively buzzing, you can see why we wished we never went there.

This is Paphos as it was then. I will show what was behind me next week. 

The main reason we never went back when it was nicer was because we were picked up by a local farmer who gave use a lift back to town and asked us back for a drink, we said we could not go because were did not have long left there but the guy kept hanging around begging us to go back with him we just hid of kept out the way. On our last night we saw him drive past where were were eating looking for us, we ducked down out the way and went straight back to the hotel after keeping an eye out for him. We knew he wanted to see us some tat so no way were we going with him. We got away safely but the who experience put us off, the place and hotel has changed a lot since then but it was never a place we wanted to return to.
