No Bicycles

Took this a few years ago when I was walking round Oxford, it just amused me. So after seeing Andy's bike on his blog Eye Candy the other day I felt it needed showing.

Have a great weekend

Reading Skys

Last Saturday morning I drove over to a Builders Merchants in Reading and on the way back I stopped off at a Station to take some photos of it which I had been meaning to for a while. The reason was because this Bridge

Was being replaced  because  the line is being electrified and the bridge is too low for the overhead cables

It's being replaced by the new one you see ahead, this  will allow the overhead cables which power the trains to go through.

While taking the photos I noticed the sky overhead and had to get a photo

The Wagon Works

This was the post I meant to post last week, it was the old Wilders Wagon Works shop in Wallingford.

The works where they were built was along the lane to the right
As you can see it is now a milliners
I must go and see if I can take some photos of the hats inside the shop
But this is what I love most is seeing this weather vane on top of the building, a relic of its distinguished past. Taking Part in Our World Tuesday.

Underpass Mural

Thanks for the support in my last post but I never decided to finish this blog but may miss the odd one as I feel the pressure to post has now been lifted. At the moment I'm thinking of kicking off with a new 365 at the beginning of the new year I hope you will continue to follow.
Back to Monday Mural this week. I took this one 11 months ago on Christmas Eve it's of a series of murals along an Underpass going under the Inner Distribution Road in Reading.
I'll post more of it in due course

Robby Raindeer

Well I've done it I have reached my goal and done my first 365, I started a year ago with this photo of a Town Crier taken in Newbury so today I thought I would do a little seasonal theme with this Raindeer I took at a Garden Center I felt he had such a happy face.

That's it, I'm not sure where to go from here. For the last year I have been juggling up to five blogs which have now dropped to four. It has been quite a strain working out what to post,  the A to Z Challenge was problematic but I persevered and came though to finish, next year I should be a bit more organized. I've had nearly 17000 hits and gained a few followers though not as many as I would have liked due to me not enabling the follow me button till most of the way through the  year.  I'm going to recoup over the next week or so and start off again with another 365 so please excuse me if I miss the odd day. Anyone know any 365 mimes?

Sunrise Over Rutherford

I used to be able to watch the sunrise from my office now I rarely see it but the other morning on my way in the building I saw the sun rising and felt too good an opportunity to miss.

All That Remains

Following on with showing the odd photo from Fairmile where I been recording the redevelopment today I will show you the remains of where the Kitchen used to be.
The place was built sometime in the 1960's so as an addition was on the cards to be removed.

This little pile of rubble is all that is left of what used to be here, if you would like to read more the click on the link

St Mary's Church Cholsey

I'm sorry but this is not the photo I was going to show today, but this evening I had some bad news in that my Friends Mother died last night. The last place she visited was her husbands grave a little to the right of the photo. When I heard this I felt she had gone to say she would be joining him soon. My parents grave and many others she knew are here so she is in good company. I  hope her family have the strength to to come through this.
 Rest in Peace

More Rutherford Skys

After last weeks post of the sunsets of the skys over where I work on the Rutherford site at Diamond Light Source  (I might add were taken at the end of October) I could not help but take some of the skys as I came out on my way out to go home.

This was Tuesday evening and the Red colored clouds
Ok this is dawn from out of my back door and the vapor trails from planes on Wednesday
Home time and another wonderful sky to behold.
Home on Thursday showed no wonderful sunset but the moon came out. Have a great weekend.

Ipsden Ward

Today I will show you another photo from Fairmile Hospital which I have been documenting for the last three years.

Here we look at Ipsden ward with it's boarded up windows and long grass growing on the once well kept lawn. The equipment you see here is from the guys who were clearing the asbestos out from the place.
Two years later the place had taken on a new look

Now you have new homes and people once again walk the old wards and corridors. If you want to see how the place changed look at my other blog

11am 11th November

At 11am on the 11th November 1918 hostilities ceased and the first world war ended.
On that day ever since we have remembered the fallen from both the wars. All round the country people will stop work for 2 minuets and stand in silence
