Rainbow Cloud

This was a chance sighting when I looked out the kitchen window so to get a better view I went upstairs to the bathroom and took the photos out of the window. Sorry but they do not do what I saw justice

The cloud does not look so good in this shot

But zooming in you can see the rainbow in the cloud

Moon in a Blue Sky

Took these back in November after letting our dog out and looking up at the sky to see a few wispy clouds and the moon with a star

This is zoomed a little, the moon can be seen with a star under it

Normal view from my phone

Portrait view of the scene

Rainbow Road

A double rainbow along the road, wee it was rude not to get a photo now

It was a beauty a full rainbow with a second just forming above

Zooming in on the colorful arch

The other side not quite as bright

I'll leave you with a second look at this stunning rainbow

Vyne Skys

Some of the gorgeous skys we had on our visit to The Vyne last month

Going along the path to the house and the sky over the chapel

Bit of sun flair here but this is the chapel, think Henry VIII and Elizabeth I both have been here

Looking across the lawn at what was the front of the house

This was the rear but was changed to the front after the road behind me was opened

Looking up the lake from the weir

Cows grazing in a nearby field

Finally looking across the lake to the house

Three Photos

This week I'm showing three photos, I'm not saying where it is but you might have seen it on the TV or in a few films at one time. See if you can guess where it is and the Program. I'll post where it is in this blog on Wed

One of you guessed right. The places shown were in Downton Abbey. First one was the Hospital, second the dower house and the church7 used in the services and wedding.

Llanlleonfel Church Views

If you follow my Church Explorer blog you will have see the church I am talking about. The church sands at the top of a small hill and when I drove up to park my car I did not take much notice of what was nearby. When I came out the view was staring me in the face

This was looking east towards Garth

Looking at the map this is Garth Bank

Looking west in the Beulah direction

Wider view looking east

Being I was using my iphone I took a panoramic view

Three years later

Three years ago I took this photo of some poppies in a field not far from where I live, over to the right you can see a Thatched cottage

Three years later it has all changed

There is a footpath that is open now which meanders around the edge of the estate

It also connects to  the estate

The estate is called Poppy fields, no doubt the poppy head and seeds  sculpture are a nod at this

The butterfly another nod as they are a rarity around here so it's about the only one you will see

The poppy head a sad reminder of what we have lost.

Light and Dark

I took this sunset was towards the end of June and was struck with the contrast of the light and dark clouds caused by the setting sun

Looking out of the bedroom window I noticed the clouds glowing beneath the dark rain clouds

Zooming in they shone with light

Almost lighting up the dark clouds

The setting sun fought off the darkness but it did rain a little

Banbury Cross

I seem to be getting lax on getting photos to use during the week but I did remember some I took in Banbury one evening while wandering around

The fine Lady on her horse

Not far away is Banbury Cross

This was where I was heading, a church which unfortunately was closed. It did not stop me wandering around the churchyard

Where I spotted this little fellow

He even stopped to pose for me
