New Years Day
After the wonderful sunny day we had on Christmas Day it was a complete reverse on New Years Day with wind and rain.
Station road and this area gets flooded in heavy rain, the puddle is starting to form
Looking up at the dark skys overhead
Ominous dark clouds
Which blow past quickly
Mind you it does not stop some hardy lad scooting through in the rain.
Sounds like the contrast between Christmas and New Year's Day in my peninsula world. But these are delightful street views of Mother Nature in rainy mode.
ReplyDeleteThank you Gemma, it's been another day of contrast, fine and sunny during the day and raining now
DeleteSigh.....everyone's getting moisture but Oregon......
ReplyDeleteBut you had snow, don't that count. I could do without the amount we are getting at the moment.
DeleteI love rainy days, so these images are right up my alley. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind it just the amount we are haveing at the moment
DeleteWell sometimes the sun shines and other times it rains. Nice pics.
ReplyDeleteYep and the next day was fine then today back to rain
DeleteGood pictures of a rainy day, Bill
ReplyDeleteThink I had better republish the downpour one
DeleteHope you get some blue skies soon!!
ReplyDeleteForcast does not look good at the moment
DeleteAs sit in my home with temperatures at -23°C, rain looks pretty good.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love the snow and frost I don't envy those temperatures.
DeleteHari OM
ReplyDeleteI do love the variety I must say... perhaps after a year or two I WON'T be saying it!!! YAM xx
I bet you miss the woarm sunsine now Yamini
DeleteWe have had much the same here, except for 6 or more inches of snow overnight... thanks for sharing your skies..Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love snow it turns to water and we would still have the flooding. Hope your ok there
DeleteWhenever the rain returns I sigh. Though it is actually warmer then (for us).
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend and stay dry. Happy SWF!
I will have a good one. The rain has stopped for the moment, just hope it stays that way for a few more hours. Need to take a couple of photos
DeleteOh my, that was a bit of a gloomy day! Is that young man skating in the rain?
ReplyDeleteIt was very gloomy though today was rather mixed. Yep he skated by on the way to the village.
DeleteRainy days at your place! Rain at my place too. The snow are almost gone.
ReplyDeleteThats sad I liked seeing your snow photos. We had hail today & it looked like a snowstorm
DeleteI find rain so depressing and that looks particularly gloomy!
ReplyDeleteSo do I and it was very gloomy
DeleteThere's a lot of rain and wind here in Norway too, but not as much as you've got these last days. Now I wish for snow on the fields and ice on the water. There's a "skating itch" in my legs... I wish you all well in the new year, and I'm looking forward to all of your 2014 pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment. Hope you get your wish I just hope it stops raining here.
DeleteYou've had such bad weather there, too. You've been on our news! And you are in our thoughts!
ReplyDeleteCheers from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!
Oh wow made it over there did we. It looks worse than it is as the serious stuff only affects a few places, most of us are unaffected.
DeleteGreat rainy day photos Bill. Hope it stopped before doing any damage. Happy New Year :)
ReplyDeleteIt's been worse that that, Happy new Year
DeleteThere's something inspiring even about the gloomy days. Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteNot sure I could agree with you sometimes on wet days
