Verda Park

Verda Park is a new industrial Estate in Wallingford opening only a few weeks ago, it was built on some derelict  land left over from when they built the Wallingford By-Pass. A few years ago planning was put in to build some industrial units and after some consideration it was granted, work started clearing the site then stopped and the epidemic took hold. A year of so ago they started work and the new buildings were soon up . I went along to visit one called Screwfix

This was taken back in 2008 and is the land where the park will be built for a while it became a lake when the top soil was removed before work could begin

This is the park along Hithercroft road

and this is the road leading in

This gated part leads to a couple or lager units on had been taken buy Oxford Biomedica the other I am told will be used by Amazon

This is where the smaller units are

The first and last ones are occupied by Screwfix and an electrical company

This is where I ended up going Screwfix where I  picked up some tools I needed. Now the place is here it save me a trip to Didcot which is twice the distance from my house, this place is 5 minuets

Take care

Dull Day in Wales

We went to our caravan a couple of weeks ago just to chill out which was just the job though it was rather a dull day which we did not mind

Taking the dog for a walk around 9:15am it was chilly with dark clouds seen overhead

Over towards Aberedw a lighter sky could be seen

Looking down the lake showed little difference

Going back  the way we came I looked out between the bushes to see the hills in a thin layer of mist

Even the sheep were laying down today

The clouds kept rolling along

Lunchtime and we were weeding the pitch and I looked up to see dark cloud threatening rain

Around tree 13:30 it tipped down and I looked out the window to get a photo, no more going out there for a while.

Some Roses

The roses are now starting to bloom in our garden, I would like to have shown but I feel that more of them will be out next week in all their glory so this week I will just contend with a few of our roses.

Last year we moved this rose (Malvern Hills) to a bed I made in the patio, this year it has really grown and is in flower, I've also planted a clematis for added interest

Nearby another bed I made early this year for the rose you see, it is another rambler like the other nearby. Sorry I forgot this one name but it has buds nearly ready to flower.

This morning I cut out a paving stone and fitted edging stones ready for another rose which was in the pot in the last photo. Hopefully next year it will be flowering and have grown more

I will leave you with one of my favourite roses, Blue for You in all it's glory.

Take care

May Sky

This month seems to be a good one to get skys I love posting on Skywatch and I have a few now with another lot taken tonight. These I am showing are from the 11th May one evening

Looking over towards next doors house and a very dark cloud which I liked because the sun shone on it and the house

Turning right a tad you see the tit box and behind a blue sky contrasted by the oak tree and dark cloud

Looking over to the other houses along the roadside

then out the bathroom window with the sun behind the clouds

finally a look the opposite way over the estate

Garden in May

Bit late with this post so little commentary, I've made a few collages to show how the garden looks

I'll start outside the back door and show you this Wisteria that is growing, the flower but ready to bloom

Collage of some of the roses that are out in bloom or ready to if the rain does not spoil them tonight

Various other plants showing in flower.

Couple of lupins I grew from seed

And this is what is happening in the greenhouse

I'll finish with this peony rose I remembered was out in flower

Saturday Evening

After posting skywatch last Friday  I wondered what sky,s I would find next, Saturday evening soon prove to be another beauty

The clouds were highlighted by the sun

Sun shining on the tit cote and trees behind

Out of the bathroom window the sun shone between the clouds

An hour later I looked out again after seeing the sun reflecting on the clouds

The sun was just setting in the distance

Happy Skywatch

The Blackbird

We have a few Blackbirds that fly into our garden feeding on the bird food we put out. One of them has become quite tame coming right up to you. All the photos were taken on my iphone

The first two photos were taken by my wife with my phone. This is the female sat on the fence waiting to be fed it comes up quite close

 And it loves grapes

Today I set up my iphone on the gorilla pod and sat in the house watching on my watch where I took the following shots remotely. I put a few raisins out hoping the female would come along, she does sit at the door and look in expectingly. After a while her mate came down

And decided he wanted to have a few

Collecting them in his beak before flying off
I'm going to have to try this again
Take care
