Sunday we had our first crops from our garden. We pulled a few of the carrots I had growing in the Greenhouse
Pulled some peas and runner beans,
Add to that some of the potatoes we had dug the previous week and we had a delicious dinner
One thing I have not shown you are the apples we have growing, they seem to be ripening up nicely
Along by the greenhouse I have planted some more spring onions and lettuce which are now growing well.
At the back the Zuccini (courgette) were growing well and will soon be cut in a week or so
Quite sure the tomatoes growing there will be ripe soon.
In the bed the leeks are really growing well along with the carrots lettuce and spring onions I planed between them
This is the first time I have grown them and they have done better than I thought
We also have runner beans growing up the poles which are flowering so I'm looking forward to seeing beans soon
In the greenhouse Aubergine's have flowers on then
The chillies are growing well I have JalapeƱo, Tokyo Hot
and Cayenne
Cucumbers continue to grow well and we harvest them regular and I am pleased to say the Tomatoes are ripening, hopefully by this time next week I will have picked the first.
The big drawback is I seem to be continuously watering them but a small price to pay.
Taking Part in Our World Tuesday
Oh gosh - the carrots look lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2020/07/the-daylily-garden.html. Now can you please send some of your yummy produce my way?
;)
Might be off by the time they get there
DeleteThat all looks good. It's always rather exciting when the first produce is ready for eating, no matter how many years it's been occurring.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid I had fresh produce all the time from my parents garden and though I have grow beans ans spuds before this the first time I really tried Carrots and peas and other vegetables. I thing my parents would be chuffed with what I have achieved
DeleteYour garden is looking great and producing such beautiful harvest. Those carrots are really so perfect. We harvested a few from our garden and they were much smaller. I guess we'll have to let them keep growing.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what I was expecting some come out longer that others but they are good. Think the rule of thumb is 9 weeks from sewing
DeleteI can taste them with my eyes.

Rusty Ring: Reflections of an Old-Timey Hermit
You have good Eyes Robin, doubt you would want to taste the maggots we found in some of the peas
DeleteLooking good! The carrots are fantastic. I have enough zucchini to feed and army, but no carrots.
ReplyDeleteI have a few zucchini I can harvest so I'll be doing that soon
DeleteLooks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteyum, can't beat homegrown veges, especially when you know what's gone into making them grow.
ReplyDeleteYou also find out what has been eating them before you
DeleteIt tastes much better than that of the supermarket, right?!
ReplyDeleteNot sure the peas are, least those don't have maggots in them
DeleteA lovely lot of homegrown. We're not successful at growing carrots. I like your raised beds!
ReplyDeleteThe raised beds were well worth getting, wish I had bought another one
DeleteIt all looks great, and I expect tastes fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThe Carrots and beans were, the peas we only had a few. The spuds were good as well
DeleteThose fresh veggies look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI was very pleased with them
DeleteGreat, I love the variety of vegetables.
ReplyDeleteAnd then as self-sufficiency, just great!
Not sure we will be self-sufficient but it helps
DeleteGreat photos of you garden.
ReplyDeleteThank you glad you liked them
DeleteI haven't had a vegetable garden for two years now. I sure miss my fresh foods, especially the carrots and potatoes. They lasted all year long including storage times. - Margy
ReplyDeleteAfraid our will not but will be enjoyed while we have them
DeleteOh, nom nom!! There's not much better than tasting the things you grew with your own hands! Take a big bite of a tomato for me when they are ripe!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see you at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
Pleased to say my wife has
DeleteThat's a nice vegetable (kitchen) garden Billy. The produce look so fresh and they will definitely taste good too.
ReplyDeleteHope your garden keeps blooming and providing healthy food.
