I was visiting a church last Friday and noticed this cat intently looking at something
It was quite obvious he was hunting a mouse
He jumped and got something
And toddled off with his prize, which he started to play with but not for long because I being the nasty person I was I picked the mouse up when he dropped it to play with it again and let it go in the long grass and though he dived after it the mouse got away
A short while later he was stalking another mouse, I left him to it and went off home

It looks a very healthy cat. Not a good churchyard to be a mouse in!
ReplyDeleteCould be our Sofietje same looks and same habit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a story the mouse will have to tell its grandchildren!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Quite a hunter!
ReplyDeleteI like that you rescued the mouse. A lovely kindness.
ReplyDeleteYour release of the mouse made me think of our dog who is outside barking. I'm sure my husband has just taken away her yummy bone and put it in the garbage bin.
ReplyDeleteI've never released a mouse, but I did kill one that I caught in my dining room recently, and I still feel guilty because killing animals is not high on my list of Things I Like.
Thanks for sharing.

Ooh, the cat must've glared and thought bad thoughts when you helped the mouse escape. :-) Cats are fun to watch in person and in photos.
