The Boathouse
The Boathouse in Wallingford is a restaurant which has been converted from the original boathouse that you see here. As a youngster a lot of my friend has summer jobs here hiring out rowing boats and small motor launches. I felt it was a sad day when it closed but it is good to see it is still in use.
The photo shows the Thames lapping over into the patio, the restaurant had sandbags in front of the patio doors but escaped flooding.
The Thames really has burst this time hasn't it Bill!!

DeleteThe Boathouse is a beautiful building. Finding another purpose for it was a good thing. Beats tearing it down and sticking up something that may not have been so beautiful.
