A year on

A while ago I posted a view of the flooded Kennet at County Lock in Reading. It was taken on Christmas Eve. Well as usual my Son and I had our trip to Reading and I took my younger son a few days shy of Christmas eve and took the opportunity for a few photos this time with a little less water.

Last year most of this was underwater and the weir was almost flat

This is County Lock when the water is not quite as high though after all the rain we had it is a lot higher than normal.

    1. Well the area is a bit clearer though the river is still quite high and probably worse today. The Floods you see on TV are only 40 miles away

    2. ..Oh dear; I do hope that your own home is not at risk? It is a terrible business. The train I am on just now is having to slow down due to the high winds.....

    3. Oh yes they are back. I'm not at risk ATM, the Thames has a long way to go before the village sees and flooding though I will pop and have a look today

    1. Not quite, after the storm I found we had a leak on the roof so had to go up and sort it Christmas Eve. ATM it seems to be holding so I have to wait for a guy to fix it for me now after the holiday. Hope you had a great one in Berlin

  3. Wondered how you got on in the storm. Damaged fences and roofs with trees down where I am but we escaped with no damage. Not looking forward to the next high winds and rain as I have to drive to Manchester tomorrow. Hope you had a lovely Christmas. I enjoyed Christmas day very much with the family.

    1. Seems to pail into insignificance compared to the people in Byfleet who are affected by the flooding and what are the government going to do, Zilch. Safe Journey
