Back in Aug 1968 I started my apprenticeship at a place called Hydraulics Research Station which was at Howbery Park in Crowmash near Wallingford. The house was built by William Blackstone in 1850. This building was the first place I was taken to sign my Deeds and to sort things out at personnel before being taken to the workshop I would spend the next year.

It was never a school thats for sure even though a local school was named afer the guy who built the house.
