The Expeimental Hall
I've posted a few photos from where I work but I though you might like to see the experimental hall where it all happens and as Saturday was Diamond at Home where members of the public can visit the place I though you would like to see the view as they come in the building.. This is a stitch view of the place looking across the bridge.
You can see more of Diamond on www.diamond.ac.uk
What an optic....Amazing !!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Fascinating! I love photography...
ReplyDeleteMary Montague Sikes
So do I, there is so much you can take photos of as well.
DeleteWell, I am humbled by your photo. I did look up the web-site and am asking you to disregard my casual response to your saying you don't do Pinterest. "Welcome to the non techy world and proud of it." Then I hopped over to your blog and found that not only are you very "techy" you are a physicist! Now, if you could just explain String Theory. . . ."
ReplyDeleteErr I'm not a physicist, I'm a technician or Vacuum Technician to be precise. I'm one of a group people that built this http://spudsdailyphoto.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/the-diamond-storage-ring.html. Still don't have a Pinerest account though.
DeleteIt looks surreal. I am reminded of an old game "Riven," a sequel to "Myst;" some of the scenes look like your photo.
ReplyDeleteHeard of the games but my son is a game designer so could explain that one.
DeleteIt's actually beautiful, this is where you work?
ReplyDeleteO yes and love the place. If you check the link you can see how it looked when I started at the place http://spudsdailyphoto.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/s-is-for-synchrotron.html and a couple of comments back what I work on.
DeleteI love that photo, Bill! It's way too cool!
ReplyDeleteYour too kind, gets a bit hot somtimes in the summer.
Deletewhat a cool scene! I keep looking at trying to figure it out!
ReplyDeleteThe building is round and looks like a spaceship from the outside.
DeleteSometimes the world of "iron and steel" can be quite majestic. Case in point right here!
ReplyDeleteBrandy's Bustlings
Looked very impressive being built.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous place to work. A spaceship, huh? I can just imagine. If I look at this photo a particular way, I think I see eyes and the bridge is a nose. :-)
ReplyDeleteCould be because it's only two photos so a bit folded.
