Moon time

 

 Just tow this week as it's too hot to sit on my laptop tonight

Sparrows and Blackbirds

 

 We have a had a few young sparrows and blackbirds hopping around the patio so here are a few photos of them

Chasing the parent for food

Please feed me

Found the mealworms 

Don't watch me eating it's rude

Having a drink from the birdbath

Just hopping around

Cute

So am I

The dish has a mixture of mealworms and sultans in so they are well fed, even the robin comes for some but we chase the flying rats off.

St John the Baptist, Newton

 

 

This week the Church Explorer visits  St John the Baptist, Newton the church I ended up beside while looking for another, it was rude not to have a look.

 

Blossom Sky

 

Don't think I ever get fed up will looking at blossom

These were in my garden

I liked the contrast between the blossom and the sky

Love the pink blossom

 It stands out with the cloud

The white no so much

Cherry blossom

This was up on a nearby housing estate

All Saints, Aston Upthorp

 

 

This week the Church Explorer visits All Saints, Aston Upthorp one church which I think has ties to the Battle of Ashdown  where King Æthelred came to pray before the battle

 

Some local sky

 

Taken just over a week ago when we went for a walk with the dog 

Over the rail bridge a train comes past with almost a cloudless sky

There were a few Red Kites with the Birds in the field

Looking for dead rodents after the field was cut

A large field for them to forage in

Swans and the nest

So down to our caravan in Wales at last and a walk with our dog showed the swans were still there

 He was cruising around the lake

 Keeping an eye on his mate on the nest

 Never far away if you came near

 Mum on the nest moved around

 And showed me her eggs, well she was tuning them, then sat back on them again.

St Michael, Aston Tyrrold

 

This week the Church Explorer revisit  St Michael, Aston Tyrrold the first of two churches that are in adjoining villages

Solitory Bee

 

 This is my hose reel, gets used most days to  clean off the patio 

 I'm not the only one using it

 This bee is making a nest in it

 Who would have though they would like a hose reel. 

Aton Tirrold United Reformed Church

 

This week the church Explorer visits  Aton Tirrold United Reformed Church for a look around, it's a lovely little church set on the edge of the village

 

Big Skys

Stopped off at this place to see why it has shut 

but got some blue skys while I was there

On the other side of the road big sky and clouds

They just went on and on

 

Took this for another reason but the sky just went on

The Knollys Chapel

 

 

This week the church explorer visits the Knollys chapel at Rotherfield Greys to see the stunning Elizabethan  monument

Some local roads

 

I stopped off to get some photos for some little project I am doing at the moment so these are all local roads to me

The Oxfordshire boarder, that side is South Oxfordshire or what used to be North Berkshire before 1974 and they changed the boundary's 

Turn round the other way and your looking at West Berkshire

This is what is behind me, a few weeks ago I showed a photo pylons disappearing into the distance from just outside the village, well this is the last one, after this it runs underground to the other side of Streatley Hill 

This was looks over the surrounding countryside, the pylons head back past my village way past the last one you see

Just out side Streatley on another side road taking you to Cleeve court

That is one of the nearby cottages there

Streatley recreation ground

The carpark for the grounds is to the right where that flash of read is, carry on and you get to Cleeve court

 Townsend road which will take you back to the first one I was on at the beginning though I might add it is a private road.
