Friday 13th I popped into Wallingford and while I waited for the bus which was about an half hour wait I went out for a quick walk.
The Thames was in flood and the seat was in the water meaning you would get your feet wet if you sat on it
The water was flowing freely under the bridge, still 5ft lower that the high of 2024
The phone box is near the bridge, normally now they are used for other purposes but this one still has a phone in I did not check if it worked
The high street was shut off so unlucky if you wanted to go along it.

That looks like a nice quick walk. Sure did get a. lot rain there. I wonder what the phone box is used for these days. Mmm? (NewRobin13)
ReplyDeleteA phone box with a phone inside is an unusual sight.
ReplyDeleteThere are some transplanted red phone boxes here. Almost all of them have a geocache in them.
ReplyDeleteCool old phone box. Love the bench in the water. Now if you could get a volunteer to go sit on it, it would make a great photo!
ReplyDeleteYou have too much rain and this winter we have too little! I wish nature would share more fairly :) Love the red phone box -- I'd wager the phone inside still works
ReplyDeleteSome day, I will have my photo taken with a red phone booth :)

Beautiful pics. Never thought phonebox still exists
ReplyDeleteThat kind of rain would make a walk difficult. Just the other day I was talking with my DH about the telephone booths that used to be in the neighbourhood. There were a lot and now there are none.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of water!
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a bit of rain to cause that flooding.
ReplyDeleteWe had floods here a couple of springs in the last decade. But most of the city is on high ground well above the river.
